About Me
Greetings! My name is Fran Berkman. I am a journalism graduate student at Hofstra University. Currently, I am the managing editor of Long Island Report, where I have had the opportunity to work with Hofstra students to present Long Island news content through multiple media.
I have also written for the Long Island Herald, Patch, the Hofstra Chronicle, metroBASEBALL Magazine, Bleacher Report, Mets Chronicle and Pro Sports Blogging.
Although journalism is my focus, I also enjoy creative writing and music; I have written many poems and songs. I spent six years in the band Vision Through Sound, during which time we released five full length albums and played hundreds of shows around the eastern U.S. on self-booked tours.
I completed my undergraduate at Cornell University, graduating with a B.S. in Human Development.
